Helen "Appolonia" Wood Helen Wood of Atlanta, TX passed from the loving arms of her family Wednesday, November 9, 2011. She was 57 years old. Helen was born in Tettscheid Germany; she resided in Atlanta, TX with her devoted husband, Mike Wood. She left this life at home with those she loved gathered around her. Helen is survived by her husband, Mike Wood. Her sons, William B. Dees Jr. of Queen City, TX and Nicholas and wife Amy Wood of Queen City, TX, her parents Nikloas and Maria Zenner of Tettscheid, Germany, her brothers Joseph Zenner of Tettscheid, Germany, Gunther Zenner of Tettscheid, Germany and Heins Zenner of Tettscheid, Germany and her devoted friend Megan Major of Queen City, TX. Helen studied Culinary Arts in Germany and was a homemaker. She and Mike loved to fish together and spend time with their family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make people smile. She will be greatly missed. The Wood family extends an invitation to their friends and family to a visitation held in Helen's honor at the Queen City Funeral Home at 421 Loop 236 Queen City, TX. Friday, November 11, 2011 at 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The invitation extends to the funeral service held the following day, Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2:30 pm at the Queen City Funeral Home with Kenneth Peacock of Atlanta, TX officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Beech Creek Cemetery in Atlanta, TX under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home.
